Welcome!

True happiness comes from the joy of deeds well done, the zest of creating things new. — Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Welcome to my sometimes quiet, always interesting world.

There is so much to be said about my life and the paths I have taken and those I plan to take. Just the words themselves will carry my voice and hopefully document my life as it is, as best I can tell it.

I’m a 30-something woman in the Midwest, where hard work and an honest living are the way we all must survive. Writing is something of a meditation, and certainly an inner voice for me.

The poetry here is all my own works and most of it is over 10 years old. I did a lot of writing in High School and kept 85% of it. Then I did more writing later on and that is here too. I haven’t written a piece in over 3 years. I do hope to change that. I need to recapture my muse.

I do love and accept critical analysis of any poem you find strikes you. Please remember that with my older works I may not have a desire to change them but then again, I just may.

I also love to read poetry and discuss it. It is likely that I can do some of that here and while it won’t be prominent I know that it helps to give me voice for my own feelings and words.

I have a degree in Spanish with a love for 16-19th century Spanish poetry. I know I will be exploring those works as well. Feel free to suggest a poet that you think I might enjoy.

Again, I welcome you to my poetry journal.
